In celebration of Earth Day (April 22), this edition of Top Picks features three different posts that are related in some way to our natural environment. The topics include climate-smart agriculture, solar-charging stations, and environmentally-focused impact investing.
- In a very interesting post, “Scaling Climate Smart Agriculture by Financing Small and Growing Business”, CGAP Microfinance explores clean technology in agriculture, sustainable practices in agroforestry, and other climate-smart options for productivity.
- Two volunteers for Bankers without Borders recently wrote a post for Grameen Foundation’s Creating a World without Poverty blog. This post features a product, called the “ReadySet”, which is a solar-charging station that can be used for cell phones or other electronic devices in the field.
- Next Billion recently featured a blog post, “Tools of the Trade: Building a Robust Deal Pipeline of Impact Companies in Emerging Economies” that reviews some of the methods that companies can use to support environmentally-friendly practices and lists several different organizations that are currently doing just that.
