The Smart Campaign is excited to participate in the Data Protection and Privacy in the Age of Data Driven Financial Services panel, as well as share our draft Consumer Protection Standards for Digital Credit and forthcoming updates to the Model Legal Framework for digital financial services.

The Smart Campaign will participate in the AFI Consumer Empowerment & Market Conduct (CEMC) & Digital Financial Services (DFS) Working Group Meetings March 25-29 in the Bahamas. Elisabeth Rhyne will speak on a joint working group panel entitled “Data Protection and Privacy in the Age of Data Driven Financial Services.” This session will examine how innovations in technology that resulted in the proliferation of data and why consumers need to be more aware than ever about the risks of sharing personal details, and why financial institutions need to start thinking about data protection seriously. The Campaign will also present on the draft Consumer Protection Standards for Digital Credit and forthcoming updates to the Model Legal Framework for digital financial services.
